About Us

Saja Energy began as SG Petroleum in 2005. There were two tracks to the business, one to provide a vehicle for international companies to invest and develop their businesses across a wide range of essentially Oil & Gas activities (upstream and downstream services) – in Kingdom, this is generally termed trading.

 

Secondly the company had a keen interest in skills development, training and developing primarily the local workforce, but also third-party employees from further afield. We viewed skills and training development as one of the pillars upon which sustainability could be built for ourselves and the Kingdom at large. With an eye on our future, as we expanded and developed, we were all too keenly aware that at some point we would call upon these highly skilled resources. The focus on training, skills development and the culture that this engenders remain one of the bedrock foundations of the company.

 

Out of SG Petroleum we became Saja Energy, expanding our horizons beyond Upstream and Downstream Oil and Gas activities – embracing emerging technologies in solar power generation, low consumption street lighting and ultimately smart city technologies, security systems and buildings management.

 

Not forgetting our roots, our oil and gas activities changed from representation to Joint Ventures, most notably with Hunting Oil, the formation of companies under the Saja umbrella such as IK Saudi, 80% Saja owned, a company specialising in the production of energy saving non-metallic products as well as a leading pipeline cleaning company in the Kingdom. Saja Factory for Manufacturing has added manufacturing on behalf of our international partners, expanding their In Kingdom footprint and ultimately it will form part of the supply chain for products to be developed by Saja Energy and Saja International.
